I’m an American living in Moscow (the Russia one, not the Idaho one) teaching students to organize their thoughts and to encounter the world through its stories. This blog is a record of my encounters with life in this city.

You can find me on Twitter @KateKoppy, and you can find information about my research and teaching at Narrative and Community.

The title of this blog comes from my habit of bestowing nicknames on my houses and apartments. The place I’m renting here feels like living in my landlords’ art gallery.

Buttercup, a calico cat is curled up on a green sofa. On the beige wall above her are two large paintings, one of them depicting a silly cat, an artful wall sconce, and two small paintings.

Buttercup and I are pretty okay with that.
